Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – January 2025: AMUOBA, Riyadh, recently submitted a request to the National Testing Agency (NTA), India. The appeal emphasized the critical need to retain Riyadh as a centre for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2025 examination.
The letter, addressed to Mr. Bhagirath Jha, Director of the NTA, outlined the significance of conducting the NEET examination in Riyadh, highlighting the financial challenges faced by students and their parents to travel to India. The request particularly stressed the impact on girl candidates, noting the safety concerns as key reasons for maintaining the centre.
Last year, the NEET examination in Riyadh was conducted with the utmost integrity, following all prescribed guidelines under the supervision of the Indian Embassy. It was a seamless and secure experience for the students. Discontinuing this centre would impose unnecessary stress and burdens on families, potentially affecting students’ performance.
In response to the letter, the NTA acknowledged the concerns, stating, “This is a policy matter, and an appropriate decision will be taken in due course of time. The point has been noted.”
The response, while non-committal, has brought hope to the NRI community, with the optimism that the authorities will consider the circumstances faced by students in Riyadh or globally.
We are grateful that the NTA has acknowledged our request. We hope for a positive resolution that ensures the continued convenience and well-being of our aspiring medical students.
The AMUOBA, Riyadh remains proactive, ready to support any arrangements or support required to ensure Riyadh meets the standards for hosting NEET 2025.
Special thanks to Mr. Iqbal Abid for his continous efforts in this regard.
